2040 – Join the Regeneration

An inspiring and hopeful invitation to purposefully partake in regenerating our world, this documentary showcases bold solutions to co-create a better world with topics of marine permaculture, self-driven shared electric cars, renewable energy, regenerative agriculture, circular economy and educating girls at the top of the list. They focus not just on innovation but also on action— by offering an action plan for all to get involved with building a new regenerative era . Learn more on their website.

Ecosia Search Engine

A search engine that plants trees! Ecosia has not only planted over 129+ million trees but it is also a carbon negative company by operating on 200% renewable energy. They transparently share their monthly financial reports publicly on social media and don’t sell any user data unlike other large tech and media companies. As a certified B-Corporation, Ecosia uses business as a force for good “that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. B Corps are accelerating a global culture shift to redefine success in business and build a more inclusive and sustainable economy.”

Have a browse through their blog to see how they’re positively transforming so many lives. You can plant trees while searching the web by downloading this search engineon your laptop browser or with the app on your mobile. Happy planting!

Meet the World’s First 16-Tonne Electric Truck: Volta Zero

This article introduces the first electrically powered semi/freight truck, manufactured by Volta Zero in Germany.

“The timing of their sales campaign is particularly opportune. Earlier this year, 14 Dutch cities announced they would ban fossil fuel vans and trucks from their urban areas from 2025. Across Europe, communities will allow only electric vehicles in towns and city centers in the future.”

This innovation will mitigate not just fossil fuel demand and CO2 emissions – but also air pollution, traffic congestion and road accidents with their creative design.

“The driver sits in the center of the cab at low-level to mirror the eyeline of pedestrians and car drivers. Conventional truck blindpots are eliminated by what the makers call a “glasshouse-style cab” with 220⁰ visibility, supplemented by cameras in place of conventional mirrors.”

Note: A serious issue to consider with the growing demand and creation of electric vehicles are that the batteries are made with lithium, cobalt, nickel and copper. The mining, limited life-spans, and disposal challenges associated with electric vehicle batteries are all serious concerns unto themselves. This report by Institute for Sustainable Futures investigates the current and future potential of ways to reduce the growing demand for mining scarce raw materials to create these electric vehicles.

Project Drawdown: The World’s Leading Resource for Climate Solutions

The immensity, diversity and complexity of climate issues that are present today may seem overwhelming. Luckily, Project Drawdown has gathered together in one place many practicable climate solutions that are already being implemented, actively contributing to the reduction and sequestration of atmospheric carbon. A browse through their educational website is sure to engage and inspire to you to seek more knowledge on how to apply these solutions in your own life, household and community.
